Pageflex®, a division of Bitstream Inc. (NASDAQ: BITS) and a leading developer of enterprise variable publishing and web-to-print solutions, announced that Pageflex has released an extension to the PrintStream fulfillment management system. The fulfillment extension enables customers to send mixed orders of print-on-demand and fulfillment items directly from Pageflex Storefront to PrintStream via the flexible API developed by Pageflex.

This extension was built by Pageflex engineers and is designed to give customers a way to join the workflows of both systems, eliminating separate digital workflows, inventory and billing processes. The extension enables customers to leverage the powerful workflows in PrintStream to perform those functions, giving customers greater efficiencies in their workflow and saving money. The release of this extension builds on an existing partnership between the two companies. Previously, the two organizations joined forces to create an integration that enables customers to seamlessly add the power of Pageflex customization capabilities to the documents available in their PrintStream online catalog.

Suttle-Straus, a leading provider of communications services, is the first customer to utilize the Pageflex/PrintStream extension. States Jon Alesch, Director of Technology at Suttle-Straus, "With this new extension, we can now send mixed orders of print-on-demand and fulfillment items directly from Pageflex Storefront to PrintStream. This capability closes the loop on incoming orders and eliminates separate digital workflows and billing processes, enabling us to achieve greater efficiencies and to realize huge cost savings."

According to Linda Pollard, Sales Manager at PrintStream, "Our collaborations with Pageflex enable us to better meet the needs of our joint customers. The last integration brought the powerful Pageflex customization capabilities to PrintStream customers. This new extension helps our customers realize greater efficiencies. We are proud to work with this industry leader, and pleased to have them as a sponsor at the Streamline User Network Conference."

Anna Magliocco-Chagnon, president and CEO, Bitstream Inc. comments, "PrintStream offers their customers comprehensive business management software. Pageflex Storefront is one of the most robust web-to-print solutions on the market. Together, these solutions provide powerful technologies that meet the needs of our joint customers. This extension is just one more way of enabling our customers to get the best out of both solutions, gain efficiencies and enhance production. We are happy to partner with PrintStream in this way, and to play an active role in their user conference."
