CCI/CoakleyTech, a leader in print and document management solutions, is pleased to announce that it has earned both FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) chain of custody certifications. By achieving FSC and SFI certifications, CCI/CoakleyTech joins a growing community of companies, landowners, and social and environmental organizations, who are committed to improving forest practices on a global scale.
"At CCI/CoakleyTech, we believe that protecting our environment is both good business and good for the community. We understand that our everyday actions can help preserve our valuable natural resources and protect plant, animal, and human life," said Chris Illman, President and CEO. "We are pleased to offer FSC- and SFI-certified paper substrates to our customers. We are committed to helping our customers make sustainable material and design choices whenever possible."
CCI/CoakleyTech selected Bureau Veritas Certification North America, Inc., a full-service registrar with offices worldwide, to audit its plants and certify the firm. CCI/CoakleyTech will participate in annual audits to maintain certification. "Bureau Veritas visited two of our facilities to verify our process and procedures," said Norm Keene, COO. "The auditor checked our entire process to ensure we maintain the chain of custody, have an adequate audit trail, and have trained our staff to thoroughly understand our commitment to sustainable forestry."
The Forest Stewardship Council, a 501c(3) non-profit organization, is the global and national leader in the independent certification of forests managed to exemplary standards covering environmental, social, and economic issues. FSC promotes responsible forest management by evaluating and accrediting certifiers, by encouraging the development of national and regional forest management standards, and by providing public education and information about independent, third-party certification as a tool for ensuring that the world's forests are protected for future generations. For more information, visit the FSC's website at www.fsc.org.
SFI Inc. is a 501c(3) non-profit charitable organization, and is solely responsible for maintaining, overseeing and improving the Sustainable Forestry Initiative program that is internationally recognized and among the largest in the world. The SFI Standard also includes unique fiber sourcing requirements that promote responsible forest management on all suppliers' lands and a chain-of-custody certification which is used to tell buyers how much certified fiber is in a specific product.
