Photizo Group agreed to develop an automated Just-in-Time (JiT) toner delivery solution with PrintFleet, a leading provider of managed print software (MPS) and data-driven solutions for the imaging industry.

Combining PrintFleet’s supply chain automation technology with Photizo Group’s predictive engine, utilizing advanced predictive data analytics, the JiT Toner solution will reduce wasted toner and shipping costs for imaging service providers. In reducing the amount of waste residual toner typically found in return cartridges, and associated costs related to inefficient toner cartridge replacement, providers can improve their bottom line, and increase their ability to improve customer satisfaction.

The collaboration, powered by IBM’s Predictive Maintenance and Quality (PMQ) technology, delivers industry-leading predictive analytic data analysis capabilities with proven expertise and quality. As the premier data analytics solution in the market, spanning multiple industry verticals and applications, including automotive, jet propulsion, and traditional manufacturing, IBM PMQ technology is seen as the best-fit solution to deliver impactful results in imaging. Photizo Group has embraced this leading predictive technology, with a unique ASL license, delivering industry-specific applications to imaging, including optimized toner delivery.

“Photizo Group is dedicated to consistently providing the most high-impact imaging solutions to our clients. In combining vital imaging consulting skill and industry knowledge with IBM PMQ technology, and PrintFleet imaging solutions, we expect to capitalize on optimization opportunity in the industry, radically changing the current managed services landscape with smarter solutions, such as automated JiT toner delivery,” said Scott Hornbuckle, Photizo Group Practice Director – Predictive Analytics

Toner cartridge delivery and replacement optimization presents great opportunity in the imaging industry. Currently, on average:
  • Toner cartridges are returned with 15 percent wasted residual toner.
  • Nearly one extra cartridge is delivered per device, annually, as a result of inefficient toner management
  • Organizations spend an additional $20 per device from associated toner waste and unnecessary shipping costs, annually.
“As the industry moves toward increasingly automated operating environments, data and predictive analytics will be essential to facilitating this transformation. Data has always been the focal point of PrintFleet solutions and predictive analytics is the natural next-step to better utilize the data and device metrics available to us in order to drive efficiencies and automation throughout the imaging industry,” said Chris McFarlane, President & CEO, PrintFleet. “We look forward to working with Photizo on the JiT Toner solution which will undoubtedly offer our customers and partners at every level of the supply chain additional value and material cost savings.”
