Last week, information governance solution provider Everteam announced the latest version of everteam.discover, everteam.discover 2.1. This updated version of Everteam’s file and content analytics software leverages artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, such as machine learning and natural language processing, to help organizations find and organize their information assets.
Several features highlighted in everteam.discover 2.1 include the ability to:
- Connect to a range of data sources, including file shares, SharePoint, Exchange, Google Drive, and other enterprise content management (ECM) and cloud-based file sync and share solutions
- Automatically classify content using corporate taxonomies
In this latest announcement, everteam.discover is labeled as a file and content analytics solution, positioned in Everteam's information governance (IG) solution set. The company asserts that an information governance technology framework consists of seven core steps or toolsets, which includes file and content analysis as the fourth level labeled "Organize." This combination is particularly noteworthy because content can be managed properly once it's effectively identified under the IG framework, and likewise, analytics can help find gaps in the IG framework to identify patterns previously unknown. In this light, Everteam could become a market leader in this space.
It's interesting to note that this announcement does not cover new ground, but they do highlight some good feature points. This latest release is a plus for existing Everteam customers by taking this offering to a new level.
While there may be other solutions on the market today, Everteam is one to consider when making a move toward an information governance technology framework. The key is to focus on a specific business challenge and assess how everteam.discover 2.1 stacks up in solving your specific business problem and meets your unique business requirements.
