Kofax plc (LSE: KFX), the leading provider of document driven business process automation solutions, and OPEX Corporation, a recognized global technology leader in document imaging and high-speed mailroom automation, announced an agreement to embed Kofax VRS technology into OPEX's new AS7200 production scanner. The seamless integration of the AS7200 with Kofax VRS technology will provide users with superior image quality, advanced in-line recognition and improved, out-of-the-box scanning productivity through ensured high-quality images and reduced manual document preparation.

"As OPEX continues to work with customers who process many forms and documents from a range of industries, such as service bureaus, insurance companies, and healthcare entities, we have been truly impressed by the features and value of the Kofax VRS technology," said Mark Smith, Director of Product Planning at OPEX. "Because of its ability to significantly enhance image quality and also provide advanced features such as color detection and content-based rotation, Kofax VRS clearly distinguishes itself as best-in-class. We are very pleased to have partnered with Kofax to embed VRS within the AS7200, our latest innovation in scanning."

"This agreement demonstrates the power of Kofax VRS to extend the value of scanning hardware by providing image enhancement technology that increases scanner productivity, and enables users to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs," said Jim Vickers, Senior Vice President of OEM & Partner Strategy at Kofax.

Kofax VRS reduces the time involved in manual document preparation and enhances the quality of scanned images. Capturing high-quality images is critical to document management processes, as image quality significantly impacts the success of data extraction, recognition, and retrieval.

Eliminating unnecessary document preparation, paper handling, and other costly tasks not only improves efficiency, but it also results in superior transaction integrity. OPEX's AS7200's unique single-step process eliminates the additional non-value-added costs typically associated with conventional document capture. When equipped with Kofax VRS technology, a variety of additional optimizations can be performed, including auto-crop, auto-orientation, color suppression, color smoothing, selective content ignoring, and more. Such capabilities add up to unmatched image quality, recognition, and cleanup at full-speed 300dpi.
