Crawford Technologies announces AccessibilityNow® Translate as part of its AccessibilityNow® platform. Being launched on the heels of Instant Language Assistant (ILA), the company’s accessible communication device introduced last month, AccessibilityNow Translate is Crawford Technologies’ second language translation solution designed to ensure that all individuals, regardless of language used, have access to vital information. AccessibilityNow Translate was developed to meet the needs of organizations required to comply with the 2023 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Final Rule. The mandate has set new standards for inclusivity, accessibility and equality by mandating healthcare companies deliver communications to customers in their native language where local densities exceed 5%.
Addressing the requirement for organizations to remove language barriers and strengthen language access, AccessibilityNow Translate offers an enterprise communication processing (ECP) service that uses AI to translate transactional and marketing documents into over 120 native languages with very little setup required. The solution’s ability to quickly translate high volumes of documents containing PHI and PII for mail or electronic delivery makes it possible for businesses servicing customers with limited English proficiency (LEP) or operating in multiple countries where language requirements may vary to send vital communications in the recipient’s native language.
Additional benefits of Crawford Technologies’ AccessibilityNow Translate include:
- High-speed translation of documents that is scalable to hundreds of thousands of pages per day
- Fast onboarding and minimal upfront costs
- Preservation of the original document format, allowing documents to be printed and mailed with complete integrity
- Portions of the document can be retained in English, eliminating the need for additional design work
- Supports industry-specific and customer-specific glossaries to ensure technical terms are properly translated
- Documents can be made compliant with requirements set by WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and HHS (Health and Human Services)
"For persons using languages other than English with limited English proficiency, providing critical communications in their primary language is the best way to ensure they are not only receiving accurate information, but also that organizations are meeting the requirements set by CMS,” said Ernie Crawford, president and CEO of Crawford Technologies. “AccessibilityNow Translate is the result of combining our 28 years of experience in document conversions, our well-architected modular software and our 15 years of providing translation solutions to bring an offering to market very quickly to address this urgent need. Our healthcare customers are embracing AccessibilityNow Translate as it makes it possible for them to avoid severe penalties by meeting the mandate for language access.”
