eCopy™ Inc. announced availability of eCopy PaperWorks™ desktop document imaging software. The new software enables organizations to get work done faster and simplify business processes that mix paper and electronic documents. eCopy PaperWorks helps office workers secure and preserve information contained across document types into a single, easy-to-manage PDF software file.

With eCopy PaperWorks, office workers can convert electronic and paper documents into text-searchable, secure PDF files and directly include them in business applications and workflows. The scan to PDF software is designed specifically for office professionals that need to quickly and easily:

  • Scan - Capture paper documents from a desktop scanner or multifunction peripheral (MFP).
  • Merge - Combine scanned documents, faxes, e-mails and electronic files, like Microsoft Word and Excel documents, into a single PDF file. Merge documents from a variety of networked storage locations.
  • Modify - View, edit, mark-up and manipulate files. Insert bookmarks, add headers, footers and Bates Stamps, and electronically sign documents. Annotate pages using drawing, text, highlight, blackout, whiteout and notes tools.
  • Connect - Save files as secure documents, distribute via e-mail and fax, and integrate with back-end applications and business process workflows. The software includes built-in Connectors for Microsoft SharePoint, EMC Documentum, Autonomy iManage WorkSite and Open Text eDOCS DM. These ECM applications do not support document scanning from MFPs, which are growing in widespread popularity in the enterprise because they enable anyone to scan documents.

"eCopy PaperWorks provides office workers with advanced tools to scan, merge, modify and connect documents with the software they use every day," said Bill Brikiatis, eCopy director of corporate marketing. "The software helps organizations work faster and simplify common business tasks while also leveraging existing investments in scanning hardware."
