Crawford Technologies announces it experienced double-digit growth during its fiscal year ending September 30, 2023, attaining the strongest financial year in the company’s 27-year history. Crawford Technologies’ strong performance is a result of significant milestones that include product innovation, ongoing advancements to its existing technologies, expanding its partnerships and its management team.

Major product innovations included the development and launch of AI-based SmartSetup, a no-code software solution designed to fully automate the time-consuming task of indexing and extracting data from print files, reducing the cost and time needed by over 90%, resulting in significant savings. SmartSetup received the 2023 Xplor Technology of the Year Award, honored as a product that is transforming the industry by expanding the capabilities of document and communication systems.

Additionally, the company built and deployed two SaaS solutions, which experienced significant adoption during Crawford Technologies’ fiscal year: cSimpl, a document reengineering service designed for affordable and simplified optimization software; and PRO DocNow, a service that gives both print service providers and enterprises fully automated document transformation and reengineering capabilities that support rapid turnaround and secure transmission with complete audit control.

Meeting the company’s commitment to be closely attuned to the needs of the market, Crawford Technologies’ additional highlights from the year include:
  • The development of AutoSense AI capabilities for the AccessibilityNow® Designer, AccessibilityNow Remediate and AccessibilityNow Publisher solutions that make it possible to automatically detect various elements and then suggest appropriate tagging
  • The introduction of two upgrades to the company’s Digital Transform Engine (DTE), the foundation of Crawford Technologies’ product portfolio. DTE version 5.3 and 5.4 were released this fiscal year, encompassing a multitude of enhancements and performance improvements for supporting document transformation and delivery
  • The introduction of Instant Language Assistant (ILA) as part of its AccessibilityNow® platform. ILA is a dual-screen device that breaks down communication barriers by allowing users to communicate via text, speech, American Sign Language (ASL) and/or braille, all in any language desired
  • Improvement in the experience of video media for people with disabilities by co-founding a start-up company, Enable Interactive Technologies, a provider of software that supports video interpreting in a variety of sign languages, in addition to providing audio description and closed-captioning
The company expanded the global reach of its AccessibilityNow document accessibility platform by establishing partnerships with companies in Europe, Australia and South Africa. To grow and expand the partnership network into new markets and territories, Janni Terzopoulos joined the executive team from Compart where he successfully developed strategic alliances and grew the global partner network.

To help customers stay abreast of the latest trends in customer communications management (CCM), Crawford Technologies produced its fourth annual Customer Communications Virtual Summit in May 2023. Highly attended, the event brought together industry experts and leaders in CCM to share meaningful insights on the trends, strategies and innovations pivotal to the success of an organization’s digital transformation initiatives and delivery of an exceptional customer experience. The fifth annual virtual event will be held April 11, 2024.

“This has been an exceptionally exciting year for both Crawford Technologies and the industries we serve,” said Ernie Crawford, president and CEO of Crawford Technologies. “Advancing technologies are taking us to a new level, changing the way we communicate for the better. We are honored to be a part of it and look forward to continuing to explore more opportunities for additional innovative products and services that meet our customers’ evolving needs in the year ahead.”
