Many organizations using SharePoint as a document repository would like to create a single document library for many different levels of users. Today this would mean defining per document (item level) security for many of the documents in the library. Titus Labs Metadata Security™ for SharePoint offers organizations an additional layer of security for SharePoint document libraries. The solution enables administrators to protect any document type and restrict access in SharePoint based on user attributes, metadata properties, or SharePoint content types. This solution eliminates the need for administrators to define security settings for every document.

Titus Labs Metadata Security for SharePoint enables administrators to easily assign security access control based on any metadata property of a document including document attributes, content types, date, document author etc. Administrators will find it very simple to configure security with this solution as there is no need to assign permissions to each individual document. Rather, administrators can create a document library to be shared by different groups of users in Active Directory and each group can have different views and permissions based on the document's metadata. For example, all users could be given access to documents with a metadata tag of PUBLIC, whereas only legal staff would be given access to documents with a metadata tag of LEGAL INFORMATION.
